๐Ÿง  Memory: The AI that Remembers You

Have you ever found yourself explaining the same thing to the AI for the third time? "I prefer short answers", "My name is Maria", "I'm working with Python on my project"...

Memory solves this once and for all. It's the feature that allows YuIA to remember facts, preferences, and information about you across different conversations. Think of it as the difference between talking to a stranger every time and talking to an assistant that truly knows you.

๐Ÿ”ฎ How Does It Work?โ€‹

Memory stores small fragments of information about you, such as preferences, personal data, and work contexts. These fragments are saved to your account and consulted by the AI when relevant.

There are two ways to build your memory:

1. The AI Learns on Its Own (Automatic)โ€‹

During normal conversations, YuIA can identify important information and save it automatically. For example:

  • You say: "I live in Sรฃo Paulo and work in digital marketing."
  • The AI understands this is relevant and saves: "Lives in Sรฃo Paulo" and "Works in digital marketing".

In the next conversation, when you ask about restaurants or request a market analysis, the AI already knows your context, without you needing to repeat yourself.

You can also ask directly:

  • "Remember that I prefer responses in short bullet points."
  • "Save that my current project is a cosmetics e-commerce."
  • "Remember that my boss's name is Ricardo."

2. You Manage Manually (In Settings)โ€‹

Want full control? Access your memories in Settings > Personalization > Memory. On this screen, you can:

  • View everything the AI remembers about you.
  • Edit existing memories to correct or update information.
  • Delete individual memories that are no longer relevant.
  • Add new memories manually.
  • Clear all memories at once if you want to start from scratch.

๐Ÿ’ก Practical Examplesโ€‹

What you sayWhat the AI memorizesHow it's used later
"I prefer short and direct answers"Response format preferenceAll responses become more concise
"My name is John and I'm 35 years old"Personal dataPersonalizes greetings and context
"I'm studying for the Bank of Brazil entrance exam"Study contextAdapts explanations and examples to the subject
"At my company we use Notion and Slack"Work toolsSuggests compatible integrations and formats
"I'm vegetarian"Dietary preferenceAutomatically excludes meat suggestions

๐Ÿ”„ The AI that Self-Correctsโ€‹

Memory is not static. YuIA can:

  • Update memories when it notices information has changed. E.g.: If you previously said you lived in Sรฃo Paulo and now mention having moved to Curitiba, the AI updates the record.
  • Remove memories that have become outdated or irrelevant.
  • Search through all your memory to find context relevant to the current conversation, even if the information was saved months ago.

๐Ÿ”’ Privacy and Controlโ€‹

  • Your memories are exclusively yours. No one else has access.
  • You have full control. You can view, edit, and delete any memory at any time in Settings > Personalization.
  • Nothing is shared. Memories are stored in your individual account and are used only to personalize your interactions.

โ“ Memory vs. Knowledge: What's the Difference?โ€‹

MemoryKnowledge
What it storesFacts about you (preferences, data, context)Your documents and files (PDFs, spreadsheets, texts)
How it's createdAutomatically by the AI or manually in settingsYou upload files in the Workspace
How it's usedThe AI consults automatically in each conversationYou invoke with # or the AI searches automatically
AnalogyIt's like the AI knowing you personallyIt's like the AI having access to your library

The two complement each other: Memory personalizes how the AI talks to you, while Knowledge enriches what it can talk about.

๐Ÿ“Œ Summaryโ€‹

  • โœ… YuIA remembers preferences, data, and contexts across conversations.
  • โœ… The AI learns automatically or you manage manually in Settings > Personalization.
  • โœ… Your memories are private and exclusively yours.
  • โœ… The AI can update, correct, and clear memories on its own.

How about starting now? Open YuIA and say something like "Remember that I prefer responses in formal English" or "My current project is about sustainability". From there, every conversation will be more personalized.
